How to pull historically evolving data through the REST API.

Hi

I want to use the JIRA REST API to pull out historic JIRA data and insert into a database. For example - I would want to have records on how different tickets have evolved (status,team assignment,priorities etc) and then insert them into DB.

Your suggestions will be really helpful.
