Does Confluense support hyperlinks to network locations?

Question

I am trying to insert a link to a network location in the format:

\drive.com
oot\directory

Somehow I get the impression that Confluence does not support this type of link.

Of course, equally possible I don't know what I am doing.

Anyone who can point me in the right direction here?

Hello Mikael,

Thank you so much for your response.

I tried it to no avail! Apparently, the implementation in my office doesn't allow links to network locations for security reasons. Why? Search me!

Thanks again,

Peter

The link should have the format file://///unc/path/to/folder/ to link to a network folder. This should work automatically if you are using Microsoft Edge or IE11.
For Chrome or Firefox you would have to download a plugin in order to get it to work, since they by default do not allow local links:

Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/enable-local-file-links/nikfmfgobenbhmocjaaboihbeocackld
Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/local-filesystem-links/
