I noticed the Sprint field get deleted when an issue transitions to the "Closed" status.
Is there a way to stop this behavior? I didn't find properties or post-functions which seem to be associated to this action.

Do you mean that the Sprint ID has been cleared When the issue transitions to the "Closed" status？
When querying the relevant sprint related issues through JQL, Can't you find any closed status Issues?

Exactly, the issue's Sprint ID is cleared and no closed issue is associated to this sprint when querying.
No one? I need to know if this is a default behaviour of Jira and if I can change it...
