Archiving old Issues or Projects in Jira Software 7.6.2(Server)

Hi There,

We are using Jira v7.6.2. We have plenty of Issues in live projects and few projects not in live, that are responsible for downgraded performance.

• We would like to Archive the unused projects.
  • Is there a way to archive only few old issues (Ex. out of 50,000 issues in a project, archive issues 1-30,000) and retrieve them when we need?
• Archive unused projects
  • Let's say there are 15 projects that are not live, can we archive them and retrieve when we need?
  • I found there is option to backup whole instance and restore it when needed, how ever I believe it is a lengthy process.

Hope I have explained my request clearly. Please advise if need more information.

I would really appreciate if you can put your suggestions or thoughts here.

Reddy,

You can move issues that you want to archive to a new project. In the new project, make sure that the permission scheme only has..for example, admins in the BROWSE PROJECT project permission.

Like wise, do the same for the projects that are not in use. It comes down to have a new permission scheme that has the intended users in the BROWSE PROJECT permission.
