jira db setup

Question

I am trying to connect my postgres db and test the connection using Jira setup.

I have created a new db and postgres user. but it throws tcp/ip error

should we need any jdbc connector for postgres . please help

Please, read the related KB.  pg_hba and postgresql.conf. It will be nice if you provide more info. (like RDBMS and Jira located on the same host or not? Configuration of postgresql.conf and pg_hba.conf)

so postgres yum installation would have installed jdbc . please correct if I'm wrong.I got below error in ui.

Connection refused. Check that the hostname and port are correct and that the postmaster is accepting TCP/IP connections.
