Filter Results gadget error: "Unknown error occurred rendering this gadget."

I have added the Filter Results gadget to the System Dashboard, but the gadget is showing up in the dashboard as a box with "Unknown error occurred rendering this gadget."  I cannot find any additional errors in the jira logs that would point me to the underlying any issue.

Same problem here, but in Jira Cloud.
