How to efficiently and methodically export many issues to word doc in batches?

I have a query that I run to generate daily Word reports.  This query outputs about 300 issues (the number of results are dynamic) which obviously slows down the exporting process due to the amount of data.

One workaround I have researched (and which I am open to) is to export subsets of the larger query into Word and then combine the results into one comprehensive Word report.

 

What is the most efficient, methodical way to do this using JQL?  Is there a way I can break the query down so the results are evenly distributed amongst each sub query?

 

On a similar note, is there a plug-in which does batch exports into Word automatically?

What a horrible and pointless thing to be doing.  I would start by asking why this is of any use (because it isn't.  300 issues in a word doc is never going to be read, search is inefficient and there's no way to accurately summarise, so people will mis-report things).

You should be looking for a sensible way to meet the goals of the people who think this is what they want.

But the answers to the technical questions are simple -

• Yes, you will have to write something that churns through and exports in batches. 
• JQL is not going to help you, it's for finding issues matching criteria, not fixed sets, or doing exports
• It's going to be slower than doing it in one go
• It's going to take some effort to stitch it all back together
• There's no mass export app
