I want to restrict edit access for certain pages in a Space while allowing add/edit to different pages in the same Space.

Can I do this?

Hi Michelle,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

You set permissions on individual pages and its child pages by adding page restrictions (the padlock icon you see on a page).

Thank you for helping me with this.

Space Setting Permissions Pages>Add>X

On the Page: Restrictions>Viewing and editing restricted>Group>Can view and edit>Apply

All pages in the Space are unable to be edited, including the ^ page.

What am I doing wrong?

Do you have page restrictions on the home page of the space that prevents editing?

Hi @Michelle,

Do follow @Mikael Sandberg's answer and review the space permissions as well since they will apply.

Couple items to note:

If you give someone view only access to a parent page, they will be able to view [and edit if they have "add page" in space permissions] the children pages.
If you want a "read only" hierarchy, restrict the parent to view only, then change the restrictions under each child page to "editing restrictions = everyone can view.

@Michelle To be able to edit a page, the users will need "page - add - checked" in space permissions. If that is not checked, they can only view the page regardless of the page restrictions.

As long as your home page is not "view only" and the Page - Add is checked, then should work:
