How to migrate a existing jira server (hosted on centos) from http to https ?

HI,

We have a centos hosted JIRA server (ver-7.2) which is accessible through default port  i.e http/8080.

But now we want to move the port from http to https to access JIRA. Please suggest how to perform this migration ?

Most of us do this in one of two ways.

• You can make the Tomcat run in an https mode instead of http
• You can put a proxy that is https enabled in front of it.

Most of us would recommend the proxy option - the changes needed to Tomcat become trivial (and hence easier to replicate when you upgrade Jira), the configuration of proxies for https is a lot more simple than getting it to work in Tomcat, and offloading the encryption to the proxy takes load off the Tomcat
