Confluence Jira macro - use metadata for the Jira query

I had asked this question some years ago and thought I would refresh it just in case someone came up with a cool solution/plugin.

I had one (a date bound situation) and now another where I'd like a query to display Jira issues in Confluence are based on values found as meta-data (or something else) on the calling Confluence page. Has anyone found a way to do this?
