How do I archive "To Do" tasks?

Hi there

I am cleaning up my backlog before starting a new project.

The team planned a whole new feature and created tasks for it which are waiting in the backlog, ready to start working on. But for now - we are not moving forward with this feature, until a new notice.

How can I store all these tasks so one day, I can just bring them back to the backlog

Hello Oded,

Jira boards show the status that you have mapped against them, so I you create a new status and you do not map it against any of the columns or backlog, the issues in that status will not appear.

Just go to your board configuration and check the column section.

Hello,

You define issues, which are visible in a board by a JQL query (board settings -> general -> filter). You can add a special status (On hold for example) and when you write the JQL for the filter, you do not include the On hold status for selection (status <> "On hold"). In this case you can move an issue to the On hold status and the issue will disappear from your board. If you want the issue to appear on the board, you should move the issue back to the To Do status.

Another way might be to move those issues out into a different project.
