JIRA server requirements

Hi,

My JIRA version is 4.3 and the avaialble ram is 4gb and the users accounts is 3500.

The issue is that my JIRA is getting slower day by day.

Please suggest iff 4 GB RAM is suffiecient and iff not,then what should be the RAm capacity.

When you say you have 4GB RAM, is that the size of the memory allocated to JIRA or on the machine? 

If it's the heap size for JIRA, then in theory, it should be ok... but see the stuff below.

If it's not the heap size, then what have you actually given JIRA to work with?

There's no way we can really tell you accurately if 4Gb is the right amount.  We need to know how you've configured it, what it's running on, all the tweaks and add-ons you've got, the access profiles (who does what, how often and when) and and and and and...

Rather than just try to throw RAM at it, you need to do a proper analysis of what is slowing it down.  It might be load and the number of issues, but it might not be.

One thing you really should do though - upgrade it.  5 makes a few noticeable improvements to speed in some areas of usage, but you'll see huge improvements over version 4 if you went to 6.4 or 7.
