Configure Wiki (confluence) and Jira as linked applications

Arnold Greving

Hi, we want to connect our wiki (confluence) to our jira system, so that we can show tickets and make use of Team Calendars.

The problem is, that we have our wiki and jira on the same (linux) server. Whatever I try to connect these servers, it does not work.

We also do not have much Linux knowledge available.

Can you please assist us on this?

I think you do not need to connect these two solutions directly. You just need to use existing tools.

Confluence has a Jira macro that is free (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/234). You can create a filter in Jira and reuse this filter in Confluence. As far as I can remember (I was not using this function for a while) you have to take the XML version of your filter and embedded this into your macro.

On the other side, you can use a calender in Jira that displays issues in Jira. For instance, we are using this plugin to display all issues with a due date in calender form. This is a Jira Plugin (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/293). This calender is based on a filter that you have created before. So, you can use any filter as long as contains appropiate dates.
