how to show a chart in a custom field in Jira

how to show a chart in a custom field in Jira? i want to show a chart in a custom field ,but i do not know how to realize it , i found some demos to show piechart in report , but i can not find a demo to show chart in custom field , so can anyone can give me some suggestions? which method should to override ? or which method to return a Jfreechart's output? or anyone can telle me is it possible to show a chart in Jira's custom field? Thanks a lot!

You are developing a plugin, are not you? If so, then when you create a custom field type, you must provide vm templates for edit and view. Those vm templates will be shown in Jira UI. Put all your code there. Instead of drawing graphs by yourself, I would use a JavaScript framework.
