How to restrict users from deleting the "is blocked by" issues in a jira ticket

Question

HI ,

We have a requirement , like to restrict the deletion of " is blocked by" linked issue type from a JIRA ticket by users , after ticket has moved to some specific transition like Validate,Resolved states.

If, someone has any idea/knowledge on this please share the details.

Thanks,

Madhuri

Any news about that?

HI Greg,

Thanks for the response, but the requirement is to restrict users from deleting the " is blocked by " linked issues in a ticket. We tried with options at "validate/Resolved" status at workflow level.

property key                     property value

jira.permission.link.user     jira.permission.delete.user=xyz
jira.permission.link.delete.group.1 some group name

But still not succeeded in restricting users from deletion of linked issues at Validate state of ticket.

Thanks,

Madhuri

Hi!

The solution might be in setting Workflow Property.

Set the jira.issue.editable property to false on all the transitions to "Validate" and "Resolved" statuses. Keep in mind that this setting would prevent users from editing any issue values in these statuses.

To set this property edit the workflow of your project (the above mentioned transitions in it).

Hope this helps.
