Best back up option for Bitbucket Server for small enterprise

Looking at options for backing up Bitbucket server and there is these.

What is best to use of these (Zero downtime backup and backup client) 

I do not mind downtime as this is mostly our test environment? 

 

Zero Downtime backup also has a confusing requirement? 

• Requires your home directory to be on a file system volume capable of atomic (block level) snapshots, for example, Amazon EBS, LVM, NetApp, XFS, or ZFS. 

Our installation is on a linux server. How does one know what file system he has? And if it can do these atomic snapshots?

Hello Timothy,

Zero Downtime Backup Strategy works for both the Bitbucket Server and Bitbucket Data Center however the Backup Client only works for Bitbucket Server.

Q1. What is best to use of these (Zero downtime backup and backup client) ?

• When a downtime is not wanted in your running instances, you will want to use the Zero Downtime Strategy i.e  Bitbucket Data Center.
• If you run a  Bitbucket Server instance within a small organisation where downtime can be accepted, you might want to use a Backup client.

 You can run  these commands in you Linux terminal to know your file system.

df   - h        # df -T, df --print-type       ==> to print file system type
