How to generate a free license key/promo code for a confluence add on at Atlassian Market Place?

Aubrey Groß

We asked one of the atlassian market vendors to support us with a free licence of their confluence app. They are willing to give support but only thing, the guy who replied was not sure how to generate a free license or a promo code. Can anyone please tell us how to do this?

Looking forward to your replies. Many thanks in advance!

Hi Aubrey,

The vendor should go to the Atlassian Marketplace and then 'Manage Vendor account'.

Then the menu item 'Promotions' will show up. Now it depends does he have any existing promotions already. If yes, he can navigate to the right promotion. If not, he can create a new promotion. It is a bit different for server and cloud apps.

hi @Aubrey Groß,

If you are trying to generate a evaluation key where you can try out the plugin for a certain period.

you can generate an evaluation license key. To do this, follow below steps.

Navigate to Atlassian market place
Search for the plugin you wish to install
Click Try it free button

4.Then you will navigate to My Atlassian page where you can generate your evaluation licence

hope this helps! 😊

Hi Alana,

Thanks for your reply. Just curious, is there a difference from the promo codes/licence keys we get directly from the vendors from the evaluation keys generated just like you mentioned above?

Thanks and Regards,

Aubrey

@Aubrey Groß

evaluation license key can be use for evaluation purpose it is like you get to use the plugin free for a certain trial period. at the end of the trial period you have to decided weather to buy the plugin or not.
by promo code ; probably you are referring to a licence key which you are trying to buy under a discount or something like that. in this case my answer is not valid.

I understood your question as you are going to get the plugin for a trial period and you are trying to get the evaluations (trail license) license.

hope this make sense.

Hi Alana,

Thanks for your answer. I really appreciate it. We are actually Atlassian Partner therefore we get support from vendors with a free licence of their apps. But the guy figured it out already how to do it.

Thanks again and regards,

Aubrey
