It seems that most other actions for build servers can be done with an SSH key for authentication/authorization, however those are typically git operations, but I can't seem to find documentation on this.
Hi Robert, I'm not sure I fully understand your question. There is a build status endpoint in Bitbucket Server side that can be hit to set the build results for commit hashes.

Yea, my question is basically can you authenticate with that endpoint without a user:pass (i.e. the example has curl -u username:password.... )and use a SSH access key for system use instead.
