Filtering Affected Version according to Component

Hi,

I'm stuck with configuring Jira.

I've installed another Jira instance to be used for customer support.

Each project is a product line (total of 4 projects).

I'd like our customer to indicate the version (affected Version) that the problem is related to.

However, we have many components and version for each product line.

I'd like the user to choose a Component field, and then select an Affected Version, but only from relevant versions to the selected component.

I believe this feature is not available in current Jira. Please refer to this ticket JRA-2744 for reference. I suggest to vote on it for popularity issues and add yourself in watch list to keep you updated in future.
