Unable to stop bitbucket on windows 2016

Hi,

We have installed bitbucket server 5.9.0 on Windows 2016 server. It was installed by my colleague who is also Administration on the same machine. when he logs in, he can see options to Stop bitbucket service etc in start menu However the same option is not visible to me.

We have not installed it as service so i can not find a way to stop/start bitbucket. Stop-bitbucket.bat also does not exist any longer.

Can someone please assist and let me know why these entries are not visible in my start menu.

Hi,

As told in official documentation, on Windows:

"For automated starting and stopping of Bitbucket Server on Windows, it should be installed as a service.

You can use start-bitbucket.bat for short term debugging, using Ctrl+C will safely shutdown the instance when it is no longer needed. "

So if you install Bitbucket Server and you don't install it as a service, you can start it with the start-bitbucket.bat file and stop it just using Ctrl+C on the terminal opened by Bitbucket.
