is there a way to modify the createdvsresolved gadget to be createdvsclosed?

I want to capture the chart showing created versus closed.  All I can find is created vs resolved.  We are using JIRA for problem tracking and tasks, not SW development.  I don't know how to create gadgets but I copied the createdvsresolved xml file and opened it in Oxygen so I could do a find/replace for all the words "resolved".  This was just a guess on my part to customize the gadget for my needs.  I don't even know if this will work but I really don't know how to point to my custom gadget while in JIRA.  Any help would be appreciated.

The code behind the add-on looks specifically at the resolution field.  You would need to change the code to look at status instead and recompile the add-on, it's not as simple as just amending some xml.

You can create your own filter and add it as a gadget to your dashboard. Are you familiar with JQL queries? if not I will be more than glad to help
