The required driver is not installed

I am trying to install bitbucket server on a Ubuntu 16.04, with mariaDB 10.0.34 installed.

I have download the Mysql connector 5.1.45 and copied the mysql-connector-java-5.1.45-bin.jar to the lib folder and restart the bitbucket using the provided scripts stop-bitbucket.sh & start-bitbucket.sh but whenever I try to select external and select Mysql I get error message says "The required driver is not installed. See our documentation for more information." and I cannot go any feature.

what should I do?

Hey Nick,

Two options come to mind.

1. There's a few locations that might be considered "lib folders" - and the right one depends on the version of Bitbucket you're running. Seems the lib folder for mysql driver was moved from the application directory to the home directory (if you use the default home directory value, this would make it  /var/atlassian/application-data/bitbucket/lib )

2. Check the file permissions - maybe it's in the right spot, but owned by root and the application is running as another user (eg: bitbucket)
