Delete Issue From Backlog

Why can't the site admin for Jira delete an issue?  How can that be changed?

You need to check the project permissions first!

The permission to delete issues in a project is setup in the Permission Scheme for the project. Most likely, then site-admin group is not part of this permission. You can solve this problem in 2 ways:

* Add the site-admin group to the permission to delete issues in the Permission Scheme used by your project.
* Check which other role/group has access to delete permission and add people to that role/group.

My preference is to use the jira-adminitrators group for these purposes and leave the site-admin to control the properties associated to the instance itself.
