Hide Status column on board based on role

I have 9 statuses in my workflow from open to closed.  3 of the columns are only used by the release manager.  So my scrum board has 9 columns, but that compresses them too much for the day to day use.  Is it possible to hide some of the columns based on role in the project?

No, that would defeat the purpose of a board.

Nothing to stop you creating a board just for the release manager and dropping those three columns off the main board.
