Have a look at your log at <Confluence_Home>logs/atlassian-confluence.logĀ (The <confluence_home> directory is the path defined in the following file: <confluence_install>/confluence/WEB-INF/classes/confluence-init.properties)
Search for Starting Confluence, scroll down past the initial startup messages, which include system info and a list of plugins. Look for entries that start with ERROR.
Then, do the same with the <Confluence_Install>/logs/catalina.out.
