How to Add assign button on the issue page.

Hello,

I created some field configuration and hide the assignee field.

My problem is that when the issue is created the assign button at the top of the issue page is also missing but when I show the assignee field it is back.

Is the assignee field related to the assign button at the top of the issue page?

Is there a way in which I can retain the assign button at the top of the issue page while hiding the assignee field on the screens.?

Hi Anghie,

It is an expected behavior that if we 'Hide' the Assignee field from the Field Configuration, the Assign button will be removed from the issue view screen as well. Basically when a field is set to be hidden, JIRA will consider that the field is disabled, hence any options that is related to the field will be removed as well.

More details on this is outlined in the following comment stated by our developer:
- Hiding field "Assignee" will cause auto assigning issues to fail

Hence, apparently I believe that it may not be possible for us to override this behavior as well. However as a possible workaround for us, if you would like to restrict the visibility of the Assign button from a set of users, then you may perhaps try to configure the Assign Issues permission in the permission scheme.

Though it's not much, I hope that the clarification on the matter helps.
