Incorporating search from confluence into search from another application?

Is there a way for me to search confluence spaces for content or the best way to do this? I'm trying to do https://confluence.com/confluence/rest/api/search/?cql=text~udb&space=DATACAT but the only part of the cql it is taking is the text~udb
