Confluence Initial setup Error

Hi all,

I installed confluence and when running through the setup wizard whenever I try to setup the connection to my PostgreSQL server it asks for the details. When I click the test button it says everything is fine but then when I continue it keeps going back to the database setup screen. I was not able to find any logs showing an error.

When I select to use the H2 DB everthing works. I know that the PostgreSQL Server is working properly as all other products (Crowd, Bitbucket, Jira and Bamboo) run on the same server and work fine.

Any idea how I can fix this?

Hi Filip,

Could you confirm with me your Confluence and PostgreSQL versions?

Despite the logs not having errors do they have any messages about what it might be doing in the background when this occurs?

PostgreSQL Version is: 9.5.10

Confluence Version is: 6.6.1

To be honest I was not able to find any log file with output besides:

Tomcat started

Hi Filip,

That's odd; can you confirm the name of the log file it is that you're looking at?

All startup and installation logs should go to <confluence-home>/logs/atlassian-confluence.log by default.

in fact the file is the same. It just does not contain any notable content.
