Can Atlassian Cloud instances be hosted on my own PHP server easily?

Question

Can I download my sites data then restore at a later date? Sick of paying a monthly fee just to be hosted in the cloud. If so what's the max I can leave it, don't wan't to download data, cancel service, then find it can't be restored.

Alternatively can I download my data and install a JIRA server instance on my own PHP server?

No, I did not say no then yes.

I said you can't host Cloud systems on your own kit in answer to your questions.

Then I talked about migrating your data to your own Server install.

Start at https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/download (click the pricing to see how much a server licence will be for you.  It's a LOT cheaper than Cloud, but you do have to run your own servers).

Then have a look at https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/migrating-from-jira-cloud-to-server-applications-938846963.html for getting your data moved.

1) You have just said no then yes?

2) Which is it?

3) Is server free? Where are the instructions to download?

I would like to migrate my data off the cloud platform and onto a self hosted server version.

No.  Cloud and Server are different products and you can't install Cloud on your own kit.

The data is compatible between the two.  As you already suspect - get a backup from your Cloud server and you'll be able to import it into a self-hosted server version. The functionality will be different (mostly in terms of layout), but the issue data, projects, config etc etc will all be the same.
