Can a scripted field detect which user edited it?

I want to create a field with dropdown options that only specific users in a specific group can select. I have the Adaptavist Script Runner plug-in.

Any advice/tips on how to implement this? Thank you!

Ron,

Maybe with the latests versions this changed, but i think that the script custom field is read-only with script runner
