We recently linked our JIRA (v7.3.6) and Confluence (v6.3.2) applications. Most of the functionality appears to work however we have run across an issue that we are unsure how to get around.
From JIRA, when creating a link to a Confluence page or content, we are offered the option to search for a Confluence page:
When we select this option, we are presented with the following error message:
The resolution seemed obvious at first - enable the Remote API feature within Confluence. However, when searching for documentation on how to enable this feature, we are greeted by a disclaimer discouraging us from doing so:

So, if these APIs were deprecated several versions ago, what is the solution to our original issue? Any help is greatly appreciated! We don't want to enable this outdated functionality if there is a better way.
