Root Filesystem is full

Question

We are using confluence server we can see that root file-system is full can you guys help me on this .

No, it's about files that simply exist.

As you add files to a disk, it fills up, it's that simple.  Once there's no space left, no more can be added, and most cannot be written to, because a write usually means adding data (even when it's a replace - the data is usually added, then the old data removed)

There are two ways to "fill" most types of Linux disks  - by size of data and size of the index needed to find files.

Try running

df -hki

This will report on the size of your files AND your inodes.  If either is full on a disk, it will tell you that the usage is 100%

I can understand that is there any open files will occupy root file system in confluence ?

Sorry, I should have made it clear. You need to work with your sys admin to make space. I was suggesting that this is the wrong place for a request like this.
