In the child page, after clicking on the 3 dots and then on "Attachments", I see my spreadsheet listed. There is nothing to click on to delete the spreadsheet.

I think, you don't have the permission to delete attachments. Have a look at the space administration (or ask a space admin to do that) if you have this permission:
If you are able to delete an attachment, there is a link to do that on the right side:
