jira service fails to start after java udpate

I have Jira 7.4.1 installed on a Windows 2008 R2. I recently updated Java to 8u152 and now the Jira service will not start. I have removed the old service and installed the new service using the service.bat file. when I try to start the service I get the error, service-specific error code 1.

I have had this issue with Confluence and it was an issue of the service not complied against the correct java version.

I have checked the Java_home and Jre_home and run the configure and check-java and they all run with good checks.

Hi Daniel

Can you show us the results of Java_home and Jre_home just for the sake of troubleshooting? Please also show us what you see when you check java -version. 

Lastly, show us the lines in your Jira log right when you're trying to restart Jira and it fails, so we can help troubleshoot.
