How do I use Wiki formatting in JIRA comments, like links or code?

Question

We're using JIRA v6.4.1.

When I'm commenting on an issue, I want to insert links and I sometimes want to insert code.

Which syntax can I use in comments to make this work?

(Actually, I'm using a plugin which automatically inserts comments and uses Confluence Wiki syntax, but that doesn't work)

No, {code} does not work. It just shows verbatim in the comments.

Similarly, links also show verbatim as [link title|http://gitlab.foo.de/project/commit/a12faec].

Macros such as noformat and code exists and work well but have to be wrapped in

{code} code goes here {code}
{noformat} clear text goes here and is not formated {noformat}

Links you should just be able to insert as is as far as i know.
