Can a task be assigned to two assignees?

Does Jira support this. if yes how to do it?

No. If you want to simulate it you can create a user picker called secondary assignee. But only the assignee will see the issue in the 'assigned to me' built-in filter. Then they can build a custom report showing them as the secondary assignee.
