Can I assign a JIRA issue directly from Confluence?

Question

Can I assign a JIRA issue directly from Confluence? Meaning when I create an issue from Confluence in JIRA, I can only select the project, the issue type, title, and description.  I would like to also assign the task, on issue creation, from confluence.

I believe this is not possible yet. I couldn't find any documentation stating this would be possible.
