Confluence collab editing

I installed JIRA, Bitbucket, and Confluence, and integrated them all together, using JIRA as the auth source (and LDAP the auth source for JIRA).

However, our developers were already using Confluence in the cloud, and wanted to move it locally. They took a backup of the cloud version, and restored it on the 'on premise' version. This messed up the configuration. I managed to fix authentication, however, collaborative editing is now broken, because I believe that Synchrony was never installed. Can someone help me figure out how to fix Synchrony/Collab editing?

Server: Windows Server 2008 R2, 64 bit, MariaDB/MySQL, APache.

Do you happen to have Confluence behind a reverse proxy at all for SSL?

no. It is behind a firewall that is using NAT, but there shouldn't be anything blocking it's ability to get out.

I don't have any ports open for Synchrony either. I wasn't having any errors like this until they did the restore from cloud to on prem.

Does collaborative editing work inside the firewall? Or does it just not work everywhere? In a typical install, Synchrony works on port 8091 while tomcat works on 8090. If it is being accessed outside the firewall you will certainly need to allow 8091 through. Also, check to see if Synchrony is running. There is a page in Confluence Admin where you can see that. I guess I should mention that everyone using the system is either internal, or using VPN, so it's accessible via 'LAN' does it still need to be opened through the firewall? (no proxys between the VPN users and the server).

And it looks like Synchrony isn't even installed that I can see.
