Confluence Admin cannot move pages

Jeanne Bock

confluence restrictions.PNG

Hi,

I have Confluence administrative rights to move pages within a space and to different spaces, and today (for whatever reason), I can't move them. I've checked with site cloud administrators (I don't have any restrictions). I've enclosed a picture of the screen which will not allow me to Move the page. The graphic says "delete" but I'm not selecting delete.

1. select "..." from top right hand side of the page.

2. scroll down and select Move.

3. The graphic above displays.

Check and see if you have delete permission in the space that the page belongs to.

Good call, based on the message in the screen shot:

"You cannot move this page to another space because you do not have permission to delete it from this space."

full admin access.PNG I have full administrator access privilege's, delete, export, etc... it came up when trying to MOVE a page. I'm not trying to delete anything.

The only other thing I've noticed is that there was a trello_cello address that was added---and i'm not sure what that is. I didn't add it to space...does anyone else have an addin like that???

thanks!

I had a co worker try Chrome instead of IE, and we received the same window (unable to move the page to a new space.)

I have the exactly same issue as Jeanne describes it!

I've been doing some more work on trying to find a work around as this impedes my work.

When I browse for other spaces, I receive this error:

ERROR RETRIEVING BREADCRUMBS.PNG

So the application is not recognizing my other workspaces. Browsing the application allows me to view other workspaces, but there's an error at the bottom of the page in which there's a problem with finding "breadcrumbs".

I found a workaround - but it's contingent that you have a previous used workspace in your "recently viewed" folder. If it's not there...well...keep looking.

1. Select the ellipses " ..." from the upper right hand corner of the page

2 Select "move" from the context menu.

3. On the left hand side of the page, select "recently viewed"

4. The recently viewed menu displays. Select the appropriate space from the menu.

5. Press the "Move" button.

6. The space displays along with your page.

The kicker is that you have to have the space you want to send the page to in your recently viewed menu items. If anyone can figure out a workaround for something that isn't in the recently viewed items, I still need that. Have a wonderful day! - Jeanne

Hi Jeanne,

I found a Cloud support ticket with the same symptoms. I will watch it for a resolution and circle back with you when a solution is found.

Thanks for your patience.

The behavior is caused by a bug: Unable to move page to another space.

The workaround is much like the one described by @Jeanne Bock:

Click on Browse
Then select your space and click on a page title
After that, go back to Advanced
The new space name will be filled and you may search for the new parent page.

I wasn't able to move a page within a space. To get round this, I moved the page out of the space into another space and then moved it back into the original space. This work around allowed me to put the page where I wanted to put it.

I had the same issue. I found that the page has restrictions. I removed the restrictions and then I was able to move it.
