Is it possible to add Post Functions, validator, conditions on "Edit" event? It feels like it's not possible to do it through workflow.
Your instincts are correct, you can't add them to "edit"
You need to re-think how you're deploying Jira.
Edit is the end-all, be-all of Edits. It doesn't mean "kinda edit" or "edit with rules": It means EDIT.
We have the same story with Delete: It's not a soft-delete, it doesn't go to the trash can, it's GONE.
Do NOT grant edit access to people who do not understand the data constraints. Use a no-result transition with a name like "Update details" with Validations/Post-Functions instead and restrict EDIT to admins only.
So, does it mean there no way to restrict anything on the "Edit" event?
Our employees found this way and started using it. So, they go to "Edit" and erase information they feel we don't need from "Required" fields. Is there any plugins?
Thank you Steven! I will have to rethink and rework all my workflows because we use Edit for some hidden info/tabs which appear only under Edit.
