Create anchor without the document name embedded?

Is it possible to create an anchor in Confluence that doesn't include the document name? e.g., if I create 'myanchor' on 'MyPage', why is the anchor name transformed into '#MyPage-myanchor' instead of '#myanchor'?

This is really confusing and unnecessarily verbose, and kind of defeats the purpose of anchoring when a short and simple label gets mutated into something big, ugly, and dependent on the document name.

Hi Klaus,

This is indeed as intended from our Anchors documentation:

Notes about the full URL:

The page name is repeated in the URL, after the # sign. The second occurrence of the page name is concatenated into a single word, with all spaces removed.

 

We do have a few feature requests to change this behavior, such as:

• CONFSERVER-36940
• CONFSERVER-24452

Please vote on and watch those requests to receive an update if this behavior changes. I would also recommend you state your usage case there to help with understanding as to why this change would be beneficial for Confluence users.
