Disable email notifications while using the Android Jira application

Question

I have and use the Jira Android application and it's awesome, but it gets rather annoying when I get 2 notificiations for every change. I would like to disable the email notifications as long as the application is receivng them, is this possible?

This is currently not possible, but is part of a larger suggestion in our bug reporting system:

I have brought up your point there, which is a very good one, IMO, and a feature I would like to see.

Please vote and watch on that case and provide your own input there.
