As per title, I'd like to understand how the "main branch" is different from the other.

Hi Gianluigi! The difference is that you use the main branch for the main line of development and use other branches to diverge from it and continue working in your new features without messing with that main line. Git encourages workflows that branch and merge often, even multiple times in a day.

That's good marketing talk, but still doesn't explain what's actually different between the branch flagged as "main branch" and any other branches.
