How to add custom content to the configuration page of a custom field?

I want to develop a custom field type and I want to give the administrators the ability to configure some specific settings for custom fields of this type. Thus I want to add a new menu entry inside the ConfigureCustomField action. For example I want to replace the Options entry in the attached scrrenshot:

How can I do that?

In order to add custom settings I had to override the getConfigurationItemTypes method.
