System Restore: Change Server ID

I have two Jira Server Instances: Server Production & Server Test

I was planning on doing a System Backup of Production and doing a System Restore to Test. When I do this, the Server ID on Test is now the same as Production, even though they were different before the System Restore.

In the end, I am going to make many changes to the Test instance, create a backup, and do a system restore to Production.

1. Is this going to cause a problem?

2. If so, can I change the Server ID on the test instance?

Hi Karrie,

You don't have to change the Server ID for a test instance but it is recommended especially if you're using Application links. You can do that by following the steps in Changing Server ID for Test Installations.
