how do i use the Jira API to assign an Issue Type to a scheme?

i create a new issue type and i have no idea about how to associate it with a scheme using Jira's API

I'm sorry for an untimely answer, but nonetheless, here's some info for you.

It seems that we can't do it with basic options:

Setting Jira Projects Type, Workflow and Screens Scheme Via API

But we can use some add-ons like this one:

Jira Command Line Interface (CLI)
