Is it possible to prevent dashboard access by user

Question

We want to open our Confluence instance to our service network. They are not our employees, and as such we want them to have a very limited access. We don't want them landing on the dashboard (which is easily solved) and we don't want them to be able to access it.

The plan is that when they log on, they land on the "Service Network" space, which is the only space that they will have access to. At the moment they can follow the bread crumbs and get back to the dashboard where they will get the activity stream and team calendars, etc... - which we don't want them to.

Just stumbled upon this one. I'm the author of the Custom Dashboards plugin, which allows you to limit access to the global dashboard of Confluence by defining filter rules for certain users and groups. So you would create a filter rule, which redirects all members of group "service-network" directly to the home page of the "Service Network" space, whenever they try to access the dashboard. You may want to give it a try.

I think the easiest way would be to use javascript to hide the Dashboard links, and maybe javascript to redirect the user back to their space if they enter the url to the dashboard directly. Team calendars is the main problem, but the dashboard adds confusion when it's not required in this case. As such, it would be nice to just restrict a group of users to one space.
