Adding Post function to Update Description Field

Question

I've tried to add a Workflow post function to populate the description field.  Unfortunately when I get to enter the info to populate the field, I get a single line for data entry.   If I needed line breaks in my description, these are not preserved..

If I am creating the same post function on a Custom field, I get a multi line text box that I can use which does preserve line breaks

Is there something I'm missing?

using wiki markup in the description field for the post-function works for the missing line breaks.

(although the single line entry for the description field is a pain)
