How to add the same field to multiple screens quickly?

Hello!

I need to add two fields ("Issue Type" and "Security Level") to all "Edit" screens. The "Security Level" must also be added to all of the "Create" screens. Across many projects, we have over a dozen of each...

Is there a way I can do the this without the slow and tedious repetition of the same clicks? Is there a REST API way, perhaps, or can this be done by updating the database directly?

Assume it's been solved but just note something here:
Go admin-Issues-Fields-Field Configurations, then find the system field and attach it to screen you want.

Thanks, Ollie, but the fields I need added are not custom -- they are standard JIRA fields... Does that change the answer?
