is it possible to delete a space level permission entry?

Question

I've a newish site. While experimenting with workflows and space permissions I set up some groups I no longer need or want. Some of these groups were used to set group permissions on content in various spaces. Now that the groups have been deleted and are entirely gone the permission entries are irrelevant and useless.

I haven't been able to discover a way to remove a group permission once it has been set. The zombie permission fields are harmless, but they look silly and clutter the page.

Hello Lurker,

Unfortunately this is a problem indeed. But this avoids users that have LDAP and something is messed up there, these groups would be removed and everything would be missing permissions.

So this is why we don't remove the groups permissions. However we can provide you an SQL Query to remove them:

DELETE FROM SPACEPERMISSIONS WHERE PERMGROUPNAME='GROUPNAME';

This would remove the groups, just change 'GROUPNAME' to your desired groupname. Keep in mind to perform a backup before proceeding with any SQL Delete.

Cheers,
